yep basically like the first answerer said....there are some letters in Arabic that we cannot represent using the roman script so we use numbers

the letter ? is represented by a 3
the letter ? is represented by a 6
hamza ? is represented by a 2
? is represented by a 7
? is represented by a 9

is you look closely at the Arabic letters and the corresponding numbers, they kind of look the same... like ? looks like a backwards 3 and so on
