Be sure to also sign your name at the bottom in addition to typing your name leaving room for your signature. The letter should not exceed one page and should be broken up into several short paragraphs. Get your point across, argue well, and "Dear" may be too formal...or not. You have lots of flexibility, but searching different cover letter formats may be a good place to start.
