I can speak french, english, german, and understand italian and spanish (cause they are similar, as french).

I know a few of greek cause thats my half part.

But the best way is to talk to native ppl, to be passionate to this language and to think in this language (i think in english).

Read the newspaper and look up every word u don't understand another good one is re writing the dictionary it takes a long time but you learn words other people would never know it's like speaking another language lol.I would just read,read,read.

There are actually lots of ways! Including:

*Taking Japanese classes
*Listen to Jap music often
*Watching anime with subs and try to remember what each phrase means in English
*Watching anime WITHOUT the subs

I know what you're going through, as I have the same problem with French and Japanese.

My advice would be to try and think in grammatically correct English as much as possible. In your thoughts, you have time to correct yourself, so you'll be more confident when it comes to actually speaking.

As well as this, talk to people! You're in America already; that's the country with the most fluent English speakers on the globe. Just trying to talk to people will get you very far!

You might also want to get some CDs to help with your pronunciation, or use podcasts. Just any English podcast that interests you; you can try pausing it and repeating out loud what they say.
