You don't need to start from scratch, but this needs some help.

You say "The bird of lust appears (and then go into a parenthetical), commonly appears....

Start with the subject, "The bird of lust, (parenthetical), commonly appears...

Otherwise you use appears twice as the verb for bird. Fix this and it will make more sense when you read it. After you do that, everything else you may need to fix will be more obvious.

You also need to clean up the parenthetical a bit.
