watch soap operas. they are pretty much the same from country to country and you can have fun while learning. this helped me a lot in learning another language.

That will be too hard for you. to catch up.
Try and learn from Tom and Jerry's cartoon or Walt Disney cartoons with Donald Duck.
Listen and observe the cartoons on how they communicate
while Tom is chasing Jerry in planet of apes.
With time you learn English language with communication too in planet of apes.
At the same time you enjoy the show too in planet of apes.
Or you can find their comic books too.
But no ultra men or X-men.
Those comics are out.

Watch both. You won't learn English simply by watching news, and as you have typed this question, I assume you already know some English.

So expose yourself to different materials in English. News is all well and good, but it only covers so much. Try watching tv shows and movies too.

Even better, read books.
