They could find an English teacher or instructor who might be willing to barter with them, i.e. to let them offer a needed skill or service for payment (such as Spanish lessons, household repair jobs, meals, etc.). Contact the English or ESL departments of nearby schools, colleges/universities, or language institutes, and ask them to make announcements or get the word out.

They could also find an organization in their city that focuses on literacy. These organizations employ paid instructors and volunteers and usually offfer free classes. Just "google" the word literacy and the desired location.

If you are very motivated :

Find your favorite movie (in english, of course) - DVD, VHS, download, whatever..

Learn it by heart - Repeat the script after the actors, doing play-rewind.

I tell you the truth - the day you'll be able to say every single word of the movie, you'll be pretty good in english !
