How do you write an article or report for the english GCSE exam?We Answered:
Ummm... WellI'm not sure if I'm doing the same course as you, but my exam tomorrow is on the media stuff and I have to write an essay on another piece of text they'll give me.
So start off with a short intro about how the title is effective and then write 4 points about what the question asks, using quotes from the text, and then round it off. So like, 6 paragraphs (: That's what I'll be doing!
xx Good Luck!!!!

Please could you help me how to write a REPORT for GCSE English Exam? Help Please? We Answered:
Writing a report would come under 'writing to advise'.This is what I have a sheet of:
Typical words and phrases:
You might be able to...
Think about...
Make sure that you...
You should be careful to...
Don't if you... then you could...
I understand that you feel...
Don't worry if...
One solution might be to...
Another possibility would be to...
If you don't then could be careful to...
In order to avoid...
I think you should...
Be confident about...
If on the other hand... Then...
Stylistic features:
-formal language
-close relationship with audience providing reasons for a course of action
-empathy with the audience's problem
-several suggestions about what to do
use of modal verbs (e. might could should)
build the confidence of the reader
-address the reader directly in the second person (eg you)
-use imperitives (eg 'you should', 'make sure that you', 'be careful to')
-raise questions and give answers
-perhaps sometimes use bullet points for lists
-lead to a clear conclusion about action to be taken
Hope this helps. :)

Is this difficult to follow? I have to write an english paper and it's an oral report. I want to make sure..?We Answered:
I love the simile of the art gallery. The sentence "An experience that has had a huge impact on me is racism and being stereotyped." is kinda awkward. Maybe elaborate more on this experience or say something like, "I have experienced racism and stereotypes, so..."
The next sentence should say "...notice a person for THEIR (not "there") actions.
Otherwise, this is a beautiful piece of work, and it's easy to understand! Great job!

How do i cite an internet website as a resource when writing a paper? We Answered:
One of the best sites for formatting a paper is http://owl.english.purdue.edu/. It has both MLA and APA.
