Assuming you are foreign, or english is your second language, the best thing you can do is Say something in english, and try to write it down, then have your teacher correct you.

Im taking spanish as my second language, but its the opposite. Reading is ok, speaking is hard, and writing is easy. Just use english whenever you can, and you should be set!

Get a computer. Click on it and start typing. You can start writing a fiction/non fiction book (other genres become available as you get higher levels of skill) or you can just work on improving your writing skill. You can also go to the business/journalism centre in town and get a writing class. Check for when these are discounted in the paper. The other thing that helps is reading a lot of novels. When you get into the Journalism career, opportunities come knocking.

firstly, was it a big jump for her between school in india and there? then she may need extra help to catch up.
secondly, handwriting books are for improving the handwriting itself, NOT speed. when she practices at home, time it and see how fast she is, but also how correct. also notice if she is slow in writing itself, or if she takes time to understand what is dictated and then write it.
thirdly, are u sure this is the reason she is poor in studies? she may also have trouble understanding what is said or what she has to write in tests. is she on the same level as all her classmates?
Fourthly, TALK TO YOUR DAUGHTER and ask her what she finds difficult. Ask her what she feels is preventing her from doing well.
The best way to tackle the problem is to come up with a way to help her with her teachers. talk to the teacher also and find out if she is able to keep up in class, where she is having difficulty. this way you may be able to find out exactly where the problem lies and give her extra help, with extra time with the teachers and also some exercises that she can do at home. it is important you involve the teacher cuz they will know where she is falling behind and what she has to be able to do at her level. they are also trained to teach her skills that she probably has not developed as well as other kids.

Remember in grade school, when you first learned to write? Constant practice really is the key. Write with your left hand often, even when writing with your right would be easier and quicker. This might sound like it won't work, but it will. Start out repetitions with some of these tracing sheets for grade-schoolers, using your left hand.

You'll be slow at it for awhile. Start out writing your grocery lists and things like that. Once you get past the need for the tracing paper (use it for at least a few days to get used to moving your left wrist in the ways that you move your right) then start practicing on short notes and things of that sort.

It can be done, I did it myself some years back. I can now use both my left and right hand equally well... only my handwriting is different with my left hand! It's pretty nifty, actually.
