I would agree with your teacher to take Level 3 again. Even if you really don't want to spend the money it is worth it to improve your English. When it is done you will have more knowledge and feel more confident of yourself. What could be better than that? It will help you with everything else that you want to do and work into your life.

What are you reading?
You may want to study the essays of one of the finest essayists the U.S. has ever produced, E.B. White. He wrote for many years for the New Yorker magazine... essays with both humor and poignancy; a very witty, observant and generous writer.

White is considered by many to be an example of an excellent essay writer, and there are literally hundreds he wrote that you can read and learn from. He was a man who could put much into a single paragraph, his stuff is just great to read, a real joy. And certainly someone to learn from by reading collections of his work.

I have a short essay by him on my profile page if you want to check it out.
What you should really do is check out a book of his essays at the public library, then see if you'd like to buy one.
(I'd avoid his book of letters, though... even though they're of great interest to me, he didn't let an editor do enough for that particular book; too long).

Go for a book of essays.
When you've finished, ask a reference librarian if he/she knows of more books you can read to improve your skills. Reading always helps, as you already know.

What about playing scrabble on line and looking up words played by others that you don't understand? That might work. Read essays on-line by college students. try google scholar or individual college sites.

Try reading some classic literature.

I was reading Austin and Bronte in Primary School and still read books in that style now but there are classic children's writers out there that may help you in your quest: Frances Hodgson Burnett, C.S. Lewis, JM Barrie, Robert Louis Stevenson, Louisa May Alcott, LM Montgomery, Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain.

Read to enjoy them and your imagination and your writing skills will improve. Don't stress. It will come to you in time. You're learning a lot right now not just in school but in life and your brain is still developing so don't despair :o)
