Gcse English Writing To Describe
Sherry Said:
GCSE english - need tips on writing to describe/inform/explain?We Answered:
I have my real GCSE for this this afternoon (wish me luck!!) haha. It's best to describe; you have more chance getting better marks because it allows you to use your imagination and let your ideas 'flow'!!You can't really revise, but you need to be imaginative and inetersting. You are describing, so allow the examiner to feel what you are describing; if they feel like they are there then you have written correctly. Don't bore them!!
Use your senses, use similes and metaphors (no matter how much you hate them. I think they sound ridiculous in writing but if it gets me marks then I'm using them!!), use varoed sentance length, a variety of language. Be unique. Think for yourself, Write fluently and naturally; don't think too hard. Write what comes; that works for me anyway!!

GCSE ENGLISH DESCRIBE HELP...?We Answered:
You can write as you want today. Unless you are getting graded on it. Then follow the rules just to get the passing grade. If you don't believe me, read a few of the questions on "Answers" and you try to figure if these people ever went to an English course!George Said:
How to describe under the stairs for GCSE English? We Answered:
The den was completely stripped; all that was left was a light bulb hanging in the ceiling. The room would incredibly wide; it could accomodate up to ten people. However, it carried an ominous vibe to it; as if something was out of place there... something abnormal. Maybe that's why noone had been there for all those years...maybe that's why it was caked in dust...whatever it was, it was compelling (or attracting) me towards it...Hope that helped.
