What is the main Difference in AP style writing vs Regular English writing? We Answered:
For AP style, please refer to:http://www.suite101.com/content/how-to-w…
"Regular English writing" is what we all learned in grade school. A good source is:

How can I improve my style of writing in English GCSEs?We Answered:
You will naturally pick up more sophisticated phrases in the time leading up to your exam, during the course of your remaining English lessons at school, so you don't need to worry about this. It is better to be clear and concise in what you are writing than try to use sophisticated language and end up not knowing what you're on about! To improve style, you should try to complete past papers at regular intervals (easier said than done - I'm in y12 so I know that's the last thing you want to hear right now! But it helps!) so that you get to know your natural style and the natural ebb and flow of your answers. For me, practise was the most important thing.
Lastly, everyone has their own individual writing style. You've already got an A last year, which shows that you obviously have some talent. If there's a layout to your answer which you are comfortable with, my advice would be not to change it to fit a "model answer" from a guidebook or something. My answers were always very differnt to the ones in the revision guides but my teacher told me to stick with it and ignore them because it was my natural style which made my life easier in the exam because it came naturally. Don't force your writing to change to make it fit with a model answer.
Good luck in your exams!! XX

What is Carl Sagan's writing style and how is it relevant to AP English? We Answered:
I read the book years ago it was fascinating. I'm note sure how it is relevant to AP English. The book talks about human development and gives certain insights into the importance of childhood. Human childhood is much more protracted and birth much more dangerous than the than the births and early lives of other creatures on the planet, I guess you could link his work to literary theory.Sagan talks about genetic predispositions. For instance babies have an inbred fear of snakes and heights left over from the time we were arboreal (tree dwelling). You could argue that these were the beginning of the universal archetypes. For example the snake in genesis is evil because we have a primordial fear of snakes , it can't be anything but an embodiment of evil. We as humans have carried the fear of snakes and reptiles with us to this very day. Our literature is littered with images and unspoken fears gathered collectively from thousands nay millions of years of evolution.
Id have to Sagan's writing style is essentially academic in that he backs all of his theories up with evidence and example. Yet unlike Hawking he has a certain flourish to his writing. It really is entertaining, not to mention thought provoking

Writing styles of Modern British/English authors? We Answered:
I think for what you want you'll need to search the database of masters and doctorates, it'll be available in any major university's (if you're in America) library as well as the details of ordering a copy. You're looking for a critique of a lesser author's style, from a particular view point. I find it doubtful you'll find this in book form, even more doubtful that it will be on the web in any form which should be accepted as a source. You might find someone's rant about "post-modernism" (stupid term only beaten by the term "modern", now that a "modern": author is no longer modern), but it would be a pure opinion piece. For authors complaining about alleged persecution, I'd check the magazine databases for interviews.
