Patrick Said:

how can i improve my grammer and english writing?

We Answered:

Use a spelling checker, like the one built into Yahoo Answers, when it is offered.

Also, switch to a web browser like Firefox which includes the same modern convenience of the Macintosh and Microsoft Word: underlining misspelled words with a thin red line.

By the way, "grammer" (sic) is spelled "grammar".

A good way to learn grammar is by reading a lot of books. You develop a feel for what "sounds right" after a while. People around you may not speak using good grammar, so beware of trying to learn it from listening to other people.

Parents will often start correcting a child's grammar at a certain age. However, if the parents grammar is not so good they might not do that.

There are good books that do nothing but teach good grammar. There are also sophisticated computer programs for diagramming English grammar. Some of these programs are written as extensions for a typesetting/text-processng program called LaTeX.

If you get really into linguistics, which is the underlying scientific principles of grammar - understanding why we use grammars and how grammars come into being, you might want to read some of the writings of linguist Noam Chomsky.

Trying to learn grammar by study can by dull, dry, boring, error prone work. So I suggest you find some recreational activity that involves you listening to, reading, or watching/hearing a lot of speaking of English going on. In other words, take in a LOT of entertainment that is in English.

If you cannot afford to buy a collection of DVDs and/or, check one out a time out from the library, return it, and exchange it for another. In that way, you can get a lot of exposure to English being spoken.

Of course, you can check out books from the library too. In the US, virtually all of the books at the library are written in English.

If you have access to a computer at home, you should use the Project Gutenberg website to download some public domain books, and read them. If you live outside the United States, check local copyright restrictions in your country - copyrights vary from nation to nation.

You will also get a huge boost from looking at pages people have tagged with the word "grammar" at del.icio.us too.

You can take courses in English grammar from local community classes, and perhaps at an adult continuing education course that is taught as a night school offering.

Finally, grammar is not magic. You can create your own verb conjugation tables or find some someplace, and study them. Getting verb-tense, plural-vs-singular nouns and verbs to agree is trickier in English than say France. Either way, you probably need to write them down, look at them, use them - and do it again, over and over.

Keeping track of when to use various punctuation is generally pretty simple for sentence endings. To learn where to correctly use commas, semicolons, colons, quotation marks, and hyphens - you will simply have to do some reading.

Start with the spelling. Misspelled words either stick out like a sore thumb, or cause your meaning to be mistaken.

can anyone give me some nice websites for my learning of English speaking and writing?

We Answered:

I would check itunes podcasts for help. There is a pretty good spanish one I know of and there may be english help as well (depending on your native language) another great resource is the library. No, you may not be able to get "rosetta stone" but you may find something descent. I don't know of any web sites off the top of my head, but you could try those two things.
