I think most of it is correct. I have a few changes to make:

"Dear Mrs Willis,
I'm writing ... TO ... say thank you ..FOR... having me to stay in ...YOUR... house. Living .... WITH... an English family was fantastic and I think my English ...HAS... improved a lot in the last six weeks. Before I arrived I was quite worried ...ABOUT... travelling alone to a strange country, ...BUT... you gave me such a wonderful welcome that I felt at home immediately. ...IT...was very kind of you to take ...ME... to London and show me all ...THE... important places. I hope that ...ONE... day you and all the family will come to stay with me so I can show you my country.

I think I would write "about" instead of "by" in "about/by traveling alone" but that's just my opinion.
