English assignment- Writing a fictional Greek myth?!?We Answered:
Creation myths arose to explain a natural phenomenon in a way that was unscientific, and used characters that the audience was already familiar with or someone they could identify with. There are all kinds of natural phenomena that you explain using young lovers, a legendary hero, a battle between two giant creatures or forces, an ordinary human defying one of the gods, or an extra ordinary couple or single human that gave their life upholding principles the gods value.Start with what you are explaining: a really cool natural effect, the Northern Lights; a natural feature in your area (Brown Mountain Lights or Blowing Rock); the creation of a creature, donkey; or why something is the way it is; pitcher plant or venus flytrap.
Then ask yourself how did that happen. Did a massive collision cause the dust to enter the atmosphere and never come down in the case of the Northern Lights? Could the natural phenomena be caused by a person being turned into stone, river, or flower? Could the event or creature be the result of a divine prank gone wrong? Could the creature or event be the result of divine punishment?
After you have determined what happened then you can figure out who. If a god was involved use what you know about the gods to figure out who would best fit into your plot. Hercules is great for a battle, Loki of the Norse pantheon or Hermes are great for trickster roles. Zeus is great for punishing someone and anyone of the gods can take pity on a human depending on the situation.
After you figure out what happens and who is involved make sure there is conflict (cause and effect). If it reads good you've got a story.

How do you spell the Greek word for treasure in English lettering? We Answered:
Its ???????? in Greek lettering and Thesauros or Thesavros with English. But its a bit wierd.Treasure sounds beautyfull for a girls name in a novel but Thesavros not so much..And also Greek names ending in -os are male names.
Maybe u should find somethin similar to treasure(somethin valuable) that the Greek translation sounds much better for a girls name than Thesavros does.
Maybe Valuable=Politimi (u pronounce all i's like on word "this")
or u can modify Thesavros to be girly, like Thesavrenia or Thesaurenia (when it ends on -enia sounds like a girls name.)
