Any tips for GCSE English descriptive writing? We Answered:
You might find it easier to do if you see yourself there and don't just think of a common or garden beach or shop, think back to the last time you were in one of those places. What made them different? Did something happen? Did you see someone unusual? Did you buy something unusual? What was the weather like? Who was with you? What was your mood like? What were the circumstances of your being there? Were you happy or sad or depressed or tired or what? What was it like? For you? Or to tell a story, go small.....for example, for the first day of January sales, you could just described being completely squashed up against the glass doors of a shop that is about to open. Describe how you feel, how uncomfortable you are (is the woman next to you with the umbrella and big voice standing on your foot?), why you're there in this desperate position, is it raining on you as you stand there........etc, etc, etc!Good luck!

hiya I'm writing my GCSE English lit exam on: Of mice and Men and comparing four poems? We Answered:
With poetry its important to explain the symbolism in the poems , i did those exact one's i had a book with them all in , but like i said explaining symbolism is important , for example i had this poem called "chemistry" and it was about this man who has a miniture lab in his back garden , but that isn't what the poem was getting at , chemistry is also the bond between two people , some are strong , some are weak , things like this are very important.I hope i have helped you.

AQA English GCSE - 'Writing to argue persuade and advise'...?We Answered:
45 mins is advised for this and the first part the comprehension it is advised that you spend an hour on it. If you need any other advice email me and also you can buy these really good text books that help give model answers (they are shorter than the answer that you would be expected to write but they help to give you the idea for it)You might be able to get them from school or you can get them from amazon:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Achieving-GCSE-A…
They are really good and they have stuff about the poems from different cultures as well.
Finally good luck with your exams x

How can i improve my writing technique for GCSE english? We Answered:
i think to start with, if you're aiming for a B grade, you need to plan extensively. In your plan include short snipets of information that willl help you link to the task, e.g
writing to inform, and you are writing a letter to your headtecher informing him you will not be returning to the sixform and why, in your plan include:
a reason (first paragraph)- reason, and three points for the reason
why (second paragraph)- why, and three points for the reason
a conclusion (last paragraph)- breif summaries of paragraph 1 and 2
once you have your plan, you can keep looking at it, which will help you stay on track of the task in hand.
once you have done this, you can relax more. Simply go through each point of the plan, and write the point in the plan, plus more detail. This will eventually build up to a page or more or writing, and hopefull your B grade.
hope it helped, sorry if it didnt!

GCSE English - Writing to persuade - Messed Up!!!?We Answered:
I did the argue question too, i don't know if it is the same as your but i did the arguing about global warming.Practically all of my friends did the argue question aswell.
Besides, if all your friends did persuade, then i bet they will get bored of reading one persuade one after another, so will probably welcome the change.
Don't worry im sure you did fine :)
