English For Esl
Jean Said:
what's the best place to work in as an english (esl) teacher? We Answered:
I taught in Japan and Korea for a total of 4 years.I liked Japan better but it is easier to save money in Korea. Either choices are good for you. Most places require a university degree. Since you have experience, I think you'll be a good teacher.

Where can I tell people I tutor English for ESL on Skype? We Answered:
I've been working as a tutor for over 10 years and always tried to market myself independently. Recently, I started using Wyzant which is an online tutor data base that students can search for tutors. They heavily market and I've gotten great business from them. I tutor mainly math and had over 14 clients this past semester. You can set your own rates and they take care of all of the money which is great. They take a commission and as you increase the ours you have tutored, your take home pay goes up. They offer many subjects which they test you on to make sure you are qualified. I know they offer ESL. Students search for you based on your zipcode and you can also limit how far you want to travel. You can create your own profile and picture as well which I've found really helpful. When a student comes to the site, they can search tutors or post a "tutor wanted" ad. If a wanted ad comes up in your subject, it will get forwarded to your e-mail. Using them has let me go from tutoring part time to tutoring as a full time job and I highly recommend it. I wasn't sure at first if it would be worth it, since they take a commission, but in the end the money is a whole lot better than working at a tutoring place. They suggest that new tutors set their starting rate at $40/hour, but I set mine a little lower at $35/hour and I think that really helped pull in business. See the link in the sources for more info. I really hopes this helps! good luck!Duane Said:

Also one way to improve you English communication skills is to always watch intellectual tv shows.
Read books & magazines.
I suggest memorize at least 5 new words everyday to increase your vocabulary.
If you heard a word & you don't know, look it up right away in a dictionary or even by a pocket thesaurus for a handy tool.

Clifford Said:
What fun activity can 50 ESL (English as a Second Language) students do for an hour?We Answered:
Have you thought of "Mini saga?" (a more sophicticated version of consequences)You split them into groups then tell them to choose two well known persons or characters then give them a set of questions.
Where did they meet?
What was the location like?
What was going on there?
What did they say to one another?
What happened then?(external happening)
What did each of them do or say?
Who else came on the scene?
What did this person do or say?
What resulted?
What did the two original characters ended doing?
Each group has to make up a short story with each student making an oral contribution in English which is noted down. After half an hour each group has to report their story to all the others, and they have to vote which was the most amusing and the best.
You should end up with things like: One morning President Bush met Madonna on a sunny December day in Trafalgar square which was filled with people jumping in and out of the fountains. He invited her to play basket- ball but she said that she wanted him to buy her a new hat. At that moment the police arrived who asked the crowd to disperse but instead it marched on Buckingham Palace. When they arrived there the Queen saw Bush and Madonna from her balcony and immediately sent a guard to invite them in for tea, but once they were indoors there was an earthquake and all the china fell on the floor and was broken. Bush and Madonna were taken to the Dorchester instead and they travelled in the Queen's stage coach as the Rolls Royce had broken down.
This is elementary but you can make it more complicated by adding additional questions. All discussions and suggestions have to be in English and the more preposterous the locations, the characters and the conversation the better.

Where is the best ESL / English Teaching market at the moment? We Answered:
Thailand is good. The cost of living is quite low. If you have experience and ability, you might be able to find a decent language school or even teach in a bilingual school. A lot of the people who come to teach here are bums (sorry to say it so bluntly). http://www.ajarn.com/ is one resource that can give you more info. Also, a lot of teachers are able to pick up extra tutoring jobs if they want.Herman Said:
Where to find some English novels For ESL students? We Answered:
Try some books for young teenagers, the language used is a bit more simple than in adult books. It is difficult to recommend any books without knowing what you like (fantasy/adventure/romance) and if you are a boy or girl.
