There two terms a year, with between 6 and 12 modules each. Each module has either a 1500 word paper and a 1 1/2 hour exam (10 credits) or a 2500 word paper and 3 hour exam (20 credits), or a 5000 word paper no exam for 20 credits. Dissertation in the final year is 8000 words and worth 20 credits, but you get to write on any topic.
DW about the workload, everyone goes through the samething, there's no more than other humanities course; although it does traditionally have more essays than other courses, normally opting for longer essays and less exams.
