English Diary Writing

Deanna Said:

How to write diary entry for IGCSE First Language English?

We Answered:

First you have to remember that you are writing in a diary. Take into account the kind of character you're supposed to be, if asked (e.g. Write a diary entry in Lisa's point of view, etc). Since it's supposed to be your diary, the language should be a little less formal, and write about your thoughts and feelings on what you base it on - don't make it a completely factual essay.

In any case, I wish you good luck. :D

Lori Said:

I want to start writing diary this yr.but am confused.should i write it in my mother tounge or english?

We Answered:

First of all, if you want to improve your writing skills and increase your vocabulary in English, keeping a diary in English is an excellent idea.

Secondly, if you want to keep your diary's contents private and others may gain access to it somehow, you should probably choose to write it in the language they would be least likely to understand.

Thirdly, I think you should also consider writing it in both languages, since there may be moments in which you feel that you could express yourself better in your native language and moments when you're just tired of English.

If you enjoy writing in English, by all means, go for it! But if it will like a never-ending series of homework assignments to you, stick with your native tongue.

Presentation ideas for a Diary in English Class?

We Answered:

Make your diary a bit like a scrap book. Write what you have to say, but stick in little objects or pictures that have to do with the story. For instance, you could be collecting seeds from plants that have been banned because they are mutant. You could draw in some little pictures of things that have been taken away. Stick in notes you got from other people, like David and Petra. But, no, they wouldn't have to write you notes would they?! Maybe notes from other people, telling you that you have to do or should be doing. Maybe some things you were given by sailors -- things from the ruined cities.

Willie Said:

Would you please correct my diary written in English?

We Answered:

Although it was Saturday, I worked yesterday. I think that although my boss has meetings too often, we can't get good fruit from them. It frustrates me to spend my holidays doing such silly things. I'm planning on studying English all day today, as I am planning on taking the interview for a certificate English exam next Sunday. Aside from that, I have to walk my dog at the seaside because he's been antsy lately and has been anticipating to do that.
