english descriptive writing - help!?We Answered:
oo i did one about a beach in november and got a*i drew the scene and then a path through it and described the beach as i walked through it to start me off. you could describe the sand beneath your feet, the cliffs, the sea using metaphors people on the beach if its summer. if its night you could describe the silhouette of a town in the background
ummm i started with: "I battle down the stretch of sand, fighting the sudden gust of wind that rushed to meet me. To my left, are the icy Atlantic waters dancing up and down, giving a fierce performance. The empty horizon only slightly changes from the slate sky to the inky waters. The air whips the waves into wild bodies of watertwisting into their well rehearsed routine"
i used dance as the theme for the water, we were told to use extended metaphors. I started the next paragraph with "to the right of me" and then described the cliffs

GCSE english descriptive writing ?We Answered:
Ive already done my descriptive writing and it is pretty easy tbh. You just have to be imaginative. For example, say you were talking about the sky on a perfect day. You could say it was "a nice blue colour." But to make it sound even better you could say " the sky is a beautiful, crystal, clear ocean in the air. " Its all about the words. You can describe, the sky, the grass, the sun, the people on your perfect day, emotions people feel, the light/darkness, the mood ect.
Good luck :) Dont worry too much. Its only one piece of coursework. It stands for 10% of your entire GCSE I think, so dont panic too much :)

English Descriptive Writing Essay help?We Answered:
Hmm, a prompt would help. Is it analytical or descriptive?Either way, first you need a thesis. If you're in high school, you're probably looking for the 5-paragraph essay format. If you're in college, it's a bit more complicated.
Anyway, a thesis. What is the point that you're trying to get across? Basically go for, "A is true because of B." Or something like that. Having a "because" clause is good because it provides extra analysis.
Your introduction could either tie in the film to what you're learning, or maybe give a a short, descriptive synopsis of the battle scene.
Your conclusion should answer "So what?" Why is your paper relevant? Bring it all back to the thesis, but without explicitly restating the thesis verbatim.
Depending on what your thesis is, your body paragraphs will differ. Could you write a follow-up question, perhaps?
