English creative writing help...!?We Answered:
OK- if this essay is on what this phrase makes you think or the techniques used in it, you want to talk about the tension from the 'just' (which is a word that instantly brings about interest, like 'suddenly') and the preposition used (around). If you have to write an essay starting with that sentence, maybe try to finish the sentence quickly (i.e. just then i turned around to face him/her and saw it.) The 'it' will make someone want to read more because they still don't know what 'it' is, which begins to build suspense. Go on to describe an object in your friend's (him/her) hand without actually stating what it is. Explain to the reader why this object is important/scary/shocking/unexpected and try to include some speech between the two characters introduced (you and the friend). Go on to say what the object is and finish off the essay with how the both of you are going to use it, possibly leaving it at a cliffhanger.
This is just an idea. Remember to keep the tension building and use adjectives but don't overload. Sentence structure as well as length etc.
Hope I've Helped =)

help with English homework - creative writing?!?We Answered:
Betrayal: the act of telling the "enemy" something that puts you at a distinct disadvantage.Well, Laura betrays Ella. Could it be a talent night for a TV show in the area, and Laura adds dye to Ella's shampoo? Or a Poetry competition and Laura switches papers that are mailed in and puts a crummy poem in the envelope as though it came from Ella?
O a computer software program design. Laura makes the computer crash just as E is finishing the work, the night before the deadline and the stuff is LOST!!!
Just a few ideas. Go for it. <><
