Well your ability to do math doesn't effect you signing up for a class.
Professors don't look at your grades/transcripts to see what you're good at then pick and choose who they want in their class.
It's first come first serve despite what you may be good or bad at.

But you most likely won't need to know math to pass an english class.

The only time in college you'll need to take a math class is for a core math class and at most colleges you can take a basic mathematics class (which includes multiplication, division, statistics, geometry) and get credit.
