Dialog Writing In English
Vivian Said:
I need to write the dialog in the video AnnaSophia Robb?We Answered:
AnnaSophia: ok, so we had a lot of great times on set. but i think one of the times that was just so embarrassing and hilarious was when we were filming on the Disney Studios lot and the Jonas Brothers were in town- i didn't know this- and so we were in the production office and i thought alexander was inside one of the rooms doing schoolwork. and there was a big window outside and...Alexander: why would you think i was doing school work by the way..?
AnnaSophia: yeah, i know, you are never there! So i started trying to be distracting and annoying. so i started dancing and jumping around and making silly faces. and so i go to walk in because i was going to do school work as well, when i heard a young man's voice. and it didn't sound like alexander. and then i heard another voice and i remembered that the Jonas Brothers were going to be in there that week because they were preparing for their tour. and i felt so embarrassed because i had made a total fool out of myself from jumping around at the window. and i was just.. oh.. it was so embarrassing. i can't believe i did that. oh well. good times.
hope this is okay. if you have any questions about what i wrote, please ask :)

I can't Understand the Dialog between players or the music in the Xbox game Urbz?We Answered:
If it is a Sims game, then you aren't supposed to understand the dialogue between your sims and others. They have a different language called "Simish" or something like that. It's not really a language, and is used to make it funny. As for the music, I don't know what the problem could be.

I am quite good with written english but, english being my second language.... (see details)? We Answered:
This is in my field so I'll try to help. If you can obtain English-language DVD's with multi-language subtitles, set them up so that the subtitles are in English. This facility is normally designed for the hearing impaired, but it has been very effective for many of my students who are in the same position as yourself. For them, 'American' and 'British' English are like two completely different languages. The reason it is more effective is that you are using an extra sense to help you process the incoming sounds and so you are more quickly able to 'translate' what you hear according to the text you see.
About the only other way to deal with this problem is to try and meet native speakers from the UK and US and spend time speaking with them. You will gradually pick up the subtleties, for it is the fine details that are the problem. Many of them have trouble understanding the so-called 'Indian' accent as well. It is a question of tone variation and tempo -- on both sides!
I wish you good luck and hope you meet with success soon. And don't give up -- you can do it!

How do you indicate that something is being said in a language different from the one it it written in?We Answered:
You probably have to establish that your characters are French speakers. I've seen cases where an author gave the French and then more or less translated in exposition, but that only works for short bits. If you have conversations in both French and English, but you are only writing the English, it might be possible to use italics for the French conversations - not conventional, but expedient - and you'd still have to explain what you were doing, at least by implication.Fred Said:
I wrote a Dialogue in English and there is one part that my parent does not get do u think it makes seance? We Answered:
It doesn't make any sense. "Stand to" is not a proper construction. You might say: "I will stay in the moment and not think about my future in this house."
Say what you mean. It's makes writing much easier.
