You don't need to go to college to be a great writer. In fact Jennifer Weiner, a successful novelist has said that its a waste of time to go to college for writing. She said that writers learn best by reading various genres of books and by writing. You only get better at writing by writing a lot.

Your parents are wrong. There are lots of opportunities in journalism, there are also lots of opportunities for graphic designers, animators and web designers. There is a whole field of successful artists out there. These artists got successful because they worked hard to get good at art, not only that but they know how to be social and how to deal with people.

They know how to market themselves in their interviews, portfolios, and how to work well with others. Parents love their children but parents are often wrong that artists end up starving. That's not true.

I would say Honor English. Obviously, you are capable of doing it if you test well enough to have an option of taking the course. As well as you never know you may want to transfer to a larger University and that course would look good on a transcript.
