Writing A Resume Objective

Suzanne Said:

resume writing, objective help?

We Answered:

As with everything else, Be honest and straight forward.

Nobody wants to read a long winded version of I need a job. state your future goals, and aspirations. and mention the advantages you expect toward future advancement.

This is usually not the important part of your resume. I always look first at job history, then education, then salary requirements, and last at personal information, objective, and references.

I will also say that if you can get letters of recommendation from past employers it will make things look 100percent better.

Good luck
Aaron

Help on writing a resume objective?

We Answered:

What is your goal when you are planning on getting the job? If you can find a goal, then that's your objective.

I'll give you some examples:

> Utilizing my skills to help other people in need
> To dedicate my time to working effectively
> Obtaining new skills and apply them to various jobs

Wesley Said:

Do employers care about the objective section on a resume?

We Answered:

You can use an objective but make sure it is in line for the job in which you are applying.

For example, if you are searching for both administrative or accounting positions, have two resumes: one with the administrative objective and one with the accounting objective.

The trend, though, is moving away from objectives and more to titles. It is more striking and makes you stand out.

Angela Said:

Can anyone help me with a good resume objective?

We Answered:

Actually, objectives are kinda out of style now - if you have many years of experience, use a Summary of Qualifications instead (check out samples on Quintcareers.com)

An objective just says what you're applying for - so it's pretty much wasted space, especially if you are applying with a cover letter as well.

Hope this helps!
