The purpose of a CV (what we here in the U.S. call a resume) is to show why you would be a valuable addition to the workforce where you want to get the job. The BEST approach is to custom-write the CV against the requirements of the specific job you're applying for. But since most of us don't know exactly what those requirements are, we tend to write a single resume and home it catches the eye of the person with the authority to hire.The best way to do that is to describe, for each job experience you have, what things you did that were particularly valuable. Rather than write what the job involved, pick some things you were particularly proud of and describe those things. For example, did you volunteer to work overtime to get out an important proposal or customer report? did you step up to responsibilities outside your specific job when another part of the organization was short-handed? did you earn some specific praise from someone outside your organization chain, particularly if it was one of your customers?
One thing about modern resumes is that they are often put through a word-search routine, so you want to get specific terms in there that you think will be important to the people deciding on the hiring. If there are specific credentials that you have, that others might NOT have, make sure they are highlighted somehow.
