What To Write For Objective On Resume

Jessica Said:

Write me an objective for a resume that a beginner could use.?

We Answered:

As an employer, I can tell you not to bother with writing an objective. Everyone knows the only objective of handing out resumes and applying for jobs is...TO GET A JOB. Obviously that is the objective. There's no point writing a section of bullshit (pardon my French) saying stuff like "I aim to learn good customer service skills in order to improve on my communication skills" or "I hope to learn more about (insert industry) because it has always fascinated me. I would like to learn the inner workings of x, y, z because I believe it can be valuable to me in the future bla bla bla." No point whatsoever. Skip the objective section and just put your education (if you have any awards, good GPA or have any elected position, put it down because it looks good), work experience (if it's volunteer, state that), activities/clubs you participate in, skill sets (ie: type 102wpm, advanced powerpoint etc) applicable to the job you're applying for. It's better to write a resume geared towards specific jobs rather than a run-of-the-mill resume for everywhere you're applying to.

Also, attach your references to your resume. I hate it when applicants don't do that and expect me to go the extra mile to call them for references etc. If there were two equally good candidates and one had a reference list attached and one did not, I would call the one w/ the references first and if it's good, I'll do an interview and if that goes well I'd hire on the spot. Whatever you neglect to put down or when people put "Reference Upon Request" or whatever else upon request, it's annoying. Have your entire application/resume/reference list as a package so you don't require employers to go hunting you down for information. It also shows how organized and prepared you are.

Good luck w/ the job hunt!

What can i write on my resume objective ? i'm going to apply for a entry level school job .?

We Answered:

You want something short and focused along the lines of:
Objective: To be a Teacher's Bilingual Aid, using my excellent rapport skills with both children and parents.

It depends which facets of your character or skill-set you want to emphasize.

in all honesty, you might want to learn how to spell and rules of grammar before you fill out a resume in the education field.

What would be a good objective to write on a resume to obtain a positionas a bank teller?

We Answered:

Take it from a former teller, mention something about how you want to learn all aspects of banking starting with being a teller. If you have any room in your resume also add a few bullets about your qualities, such as being honest and patient - show off your customer service skills because you will have to handle all types of people. If you are germ freak then tellering is not for you - money is very dirty! Good luck!

We Answered:

Most school aides require a college education; most also have certification as a teacher. Still, no harm in applying. Most resumes don't include an objective unless you're fresh out of college with no work experience. I wouldn't waste the line on an objective... focus on your work experience and any experience that directly resulted in working with kids.
