Amanda Said:

Help writing resume objective.?

We Answered:

It appears you have a lot of practical experience that could also transfer over to other like industries. Personally, writing an objective sometimes limits you and is just one other thing that can eliminate you as a potential candidate. In this tough job market it is better to focus on given specific talents, experiences, skillsets, etc. that an employer would be interested in. If you put an objective at the beginning then for whatever reason the reader may not go any further if they don't like it. Take more time to show and highlight you & why they should hire you because of what you can provide THEM not what you want. This is today's market. I hope this helps and you find what you are looking for. Good luck

I need help writing my career objective for my resume?

We Answered:

If you do have a career objective, make sure it's all about what you have to offer, not about what you want. For example, "To leverage my communications degree and customer service experience in support of clear clear performance objectives."

However, be aware that many career coaches advise using a "professional summary" instead. This is really just the same thing I just described -- a section that summarizes what you have to offer, not what you want. A sample would be: "A recent honors graduate with a BS in communications, I bring several years of customer service experience, a strong work ethic and a passionate commitment to learning to everything I do.

Good luck!

Calvin Said:

When writing an objective for your resume, how do you know what to say?

We Answered:

I wouldn't include a cover letter with a resume for an internal posting, since that is used as a tool to introduce yourself; and at the company they already know you. But, if you want to include it then I think it would be nice.

For the objective, I would keep it short and focused on the job description that you are applying for. Maybe something along the lines of "Seeking a position as an accounting specialist where I can use my financial and analytical skills to benefit the company."

Good luck!!

Roberto Said:

need help writing my resume objective?

We Answered:

An objective statement is literally just a sentence or sentence fragment saying what you want to do. In your case, I would write "Objective: acquisition of a rewarding position as a resident advisor at (insert school name here)". Good luck.
