Make it so that when the recruiters have the first look at it, they become interested in it. When applying for jobs that have thousands of applications for every person you are going to hire, realistically you have less than 10 seconds to impress.If on that first glance all you see is the date and place of birth and hobbies and elementary school details, that tells nothing about why they should hire you.
What you want is them to become interested in you, to call and ask you for the interviews. A good resume is 1-2 pages, never more. Highlight the qualities that match the position you want - so your stress tolerance, sunny character, loving to deal with different people and problem solving situations etc etc. For a flight attendant job it is ok to add pictures - for most other jobs I wouldn't.
When they have the first look at your resume/curriculum, in the first 5 seconds it has to show as a very positive resume so that they want to read more and ask you for an interview.

Check out this podcast. It's called "Your resume stinks!" It's by a couple of real experts/consultants that have a weekly podcast on effective management techniques -- and this one covered how to prepare good resumes.There's lots of advice that goes counter to what I learned, but they base their work on how recruiting agents work and what they're looking for. One of their rules is not to use profiles. They explain all of their advice in the podcast.
Also, on this site, if you become a registered member (free), you can access their sample resume.

Go to the source below, press "templates" Tab, then CVs/Resumes and there you will find subject and situation specific CVs and Resumes.If you get lost - it is the Microsoft download centre - but all you computer buffs will already know how to get there much faster than me - but just in case you don't.....................
