How To Write A Cv Examples

Vernon Said:

How do you write a CV? I don't no where to start at all! ?

We Answered:

Keep it to one side of a sheet of A4.

Provide your name, address, date of birth and a contact number of applicable.

Give brief details of your education, further education and any other learning processes in which you have participated and for which you can provide some kind of certification if requested, and full details of any and all relevant qualifications you have.

All the rest is bulls**t.

When your job involves recruiting personnel you can be buried in CV's. Your job is to sift through them in order to reduce the stack to a small number of possibles. A comprehensive overview of previous employment is also valuable. You do NOT want to read about how they love walking their dog, or collect stamps for a hobby. You want to know what matters - Age, qualifications, skills and experience.

People who fill their CV with meaningless fluff usually have a head full of meaningless fluff, and they typically work as if full of meaningless fluff.

Also, refrain from wasting their time. If you're recruiting a skilled steel fixer, roofer or scaffolder the last thing you want to read is "I have work on the tills at Woolworth for the last 40 years but I'd love to give scaffolding a try".

(And yes, that really does happen)

Oh!

And if you offered me one of those crappy Microsoft templates I'd lead you to believe you had the job only to dump you at the eleventh hour; if you're going to insult my intelligence I'm going to get even with you in any way I can.

Help! How Do I Write A CV?

Keep it to a page if possible. Include your basic info: name, address, phone number. Do you have any outstanding academic achievements?
What are your goals and objectives? Have u had a summer job before? Or had an internship? Good to include that. Also add some references. To help with the layout, Microsoft word has a resume wizard which could help u make a basic cv/resume. Good luck.
