where can i get free templates of resumes. or good examples of some w/o having to pay?

We Answered:

I am currently taking a Human Resources (personnel management) program in school and had to take an entire course on resume and cover letter writing and designing. Depending on what type of job you are looking for templates may not be a good idea as it does not show your creativity and employers can easily pick out the resumes done on a template...try the following
make a cover letter (it is very important and shows the employer your strengths and why you really want the job)
Make your resume and cover letter the same ie. put your name phone number address email address maybe centred on the page your name in Bold and in a bigger font with your other information underneath ...do this for both resume and cover letter...with a line underneath this to seperate it.
On the resume put;
Objective: To secure a job in....................which utilizes my strengths in......... or something likes this...if you need more help let me know
then put
Skills and abilities
maybe you have taken a course in word, powerpoint excel that relates to the job...this section would be best used with the job ad (if they say they want a hard work who can work well in a team or on their own) then put
able to work in a team or individually ( employers look for key words
put things that are true about yourself

Then put educational experience

highschool..depending on your age...elementary...college?

Then put work experience..even if you don't have a lot

then your Interests

soccer, reading, music..who knows....maybe it is something relating to the job... fashion for mall work...

Use all the white space that you can...

Put your work experience on the left side of the page..and the dates on the right side...

Hope this helped..if you need anymore help please dont hesitate to ask...I took an entire course...and am going into HR so I know what to look for and what other employers may be looking for :)
