You want to focus on your ability to handle multiple tasks, and most importantly STRESS! If you have sold real estate, you had to follow specific laws and rules and you had to learn them quickly, I suspect. So, that can transfer to being a CO. Also, you need to let them know that you can work as part of a team, as well as under levels of supervision, as you may have different ranks of people above you. Very important-people skills. Let them know how many people you have worked with, from different backgrounds and of different ages. Your ability to work different shifts/hours and overtime is highly important, too, as well as holiday and weekend availability-meaning you CAN work any and all of those hours.

I would not worry so much about formatting your resume. Are you able to send a resume and cover? I ask, because I am married to a CO. Where we live, you get this job through civil service. Basically, you apply, fill out a brief resume (where you do have space to relate the transferable skills) and then take a test eventually. You are then ranked by score and go through a LONG interview process. Yes, the resume part is there (you never need an actual separate one), but the most important is that you A. meet the requirements that are issued with the job announcement and B.you pass the test and rank high enough to get interviewed and then C. make it through the interview. If your state hires like this, you will see that the resume is just a piece. If you need a cover letter, just highlight the applicable skills that you have that are needed by a CO. There are a few things to remember about writing a resume for the Australian job market!
* Don't put personal information on the resume - age, marital status, religion etc
* Make sure to include your accomplishments as an electrician - how did you solve a problem? What new systems or ways of doing things have you put into place? Did you increase productivity and by how much?
* List your previous jobs in reverse chronological order.
* Consider putting a value proposition statement at the top of your resume - a summary of what you have to offer potential employers.
* Don't write your resume in the first person.
* Two to three pages for a resume is ideal.

yes I think so. You need to start with the skills list and then put together a career track that contains the projects and the areas where you made personal contributions. Make sure that it is clear that you made a difference , talk about the things that you actually did ... "I did" not "we did"
