It's pretty basic - write both in Word and save them on your desktop. Templates can be found online - many job-sites like careerbuilder.com offer them.

Once you have it at as a Word doc, save it as something easily identifiable - like your initials and resume with date - so abcresume0324 (and rename it with current date when you apply elsewhere.)

When you to the online site, you should have an option to upload your resume and cover letter - in which case, you find the file on your desktop, attach and move on. If that is not an option, you can copy paste both to the box offered.
