Curriculum Vitae Cover Letter

Thomas Said:

Whom should I address in the cover letter?

We Answered:

You should address The consultant. if you are not sure who to address, then you would say "Dear Sir or Madam" or "To whom it may concern"

Curtis Said:

how is my acting cover letter?

We Answered:

The good bit....
You are clearly very intelligent and well spoken and by reading this I don't doubt you are commited to being an actor as a living.

The harsh bit....
It isn't a good idea to contact an agent until your CV is full to the brim with experience. So requesting that an agent take you on in order to give you experience won't work.
Also, this letter is just dull, dull, dull. Remember, an agent will recieve literally HUNDREDS of these letters that are exactly identical from girls like you every single day so the trick is to keep yours from ending up in the bin at any cost!
The formality you would use in an ordinary business cover letter (ie. Dear Sir, I am contacting you in the hope that...blah, blah, blah) is not necessary for a talent agent. They want to see who you are, what you will bring to them as an actor, as a personality and as an exciting, charismatic person they can put forward for auditions. I don't have any idea who you are when reading this...straight to bin!
I really good, snappy, interesting cover letter could even get you seen despite your limited experience if your clever enough.
