I have been learning Spanish for 3 years and I am teaching myself mandarin Chinese (most speakers of any language)... Plus, I remember my 8th grade teacher saying if you know English Spanish and chinese, you can get around nearly anywhere in the world. I want to accomplish this goal... You should too! Go with mandarin Chinese... I don't know if you heard that "China will be the next superpower," but there is a reason... 3 richest GDPs (not per capita)... 1. USA 2. China 3. India...... If you do end up choosing mandarin, make sure you don't quit, even if it's confusing....

I just want to add that I have heard that Rosetta Stone doesn't work too well.... Make sure you read reviews about it from people who actually used it...

Of course it sounds great to shoot for the stars.. but most places exect you to be able to shoot first before going for the stars.

Some of the other answers were very good.. with you being new to the workforce and proabably still in school.. use that to your advantage.

My main goal is to be able to finish high school while saving money for college.
With this being my first job, I am interested in learning to be a team player in food service and start building my experience in the workplace so I will have a solid base of skills for future upward mobility.
My goal is to work for a company that is willing to grow with me, and is able to allow me to work in a friendly fast paced environment while still able to pursue my educations goals of graduating high school and starting college..
