Check for Word templates for a resume - they are nice and simple.

At the top put your personal information. Include an objectives statement (the job you're looking for and why), work history (start with most recent and put what you did, the name and phone number of the people you worked for, and for how long (dates) you worked - this can be babysitting or volunteer work), and your skills/education (skills you've acquired from leadership positions, doing work around the house, anything!).

Use vibrant and active words and don't be afraid to talk yourself up a bit. Don't lie - but be intentional with how you describe your work experience. For babysitting you can put "Responsible for the health and well-being of four kids, aged 3-8" so that you're using 'responsible' as a positive word to promote yourself and you're explaining in simple terms what you did (even though it will be obvious that you were babysitting and not in an 'official' job - but that's not a bad thing, so don't worry). Use a thesaurus if you need to. :)

Try googling 'sample resume' or 'resume template' for some easy tips and help with yours. I googled around a bit and found this site mildly helpful:

Kmart will understand that you're looking for your first job and because of the work they offer you'll want to emphasize customer service/working with people and being generally responsible. Be positive, honest, and interesting and you can seal the deal with an interview! Really they're just looking for nice and reliable workers - and you can be that without a lengthy resume or job experience.

I would recommend doing a search for teen or student resume samples. You're right, many resume writers specialize in executive resumes because that's where the money is, but the best resume for someone your age will be quite different from someone with years of experience and accomplishments. Standard resume formats focus on experience, but unfortunately that's something young people often don't have much of.

You can certainly use a template, but realize that a template will make you look pretty much like everyone else. They allow for very little originality, so standing out from your competition may prove difficult.
