Sorry, but I don't have access to that book. What you need is a headline that defines the most dramatic or interesting part of the notes, but sums it up accurately. Make is short. Then you need your lead in the first sentence. Your lead includes a "hook." which is something compelling that expands from the headline, but really draws interest. Next is your nut graph, which is where you expand further on your details with important facts and details of the trial. SInce this is a timely news story, you will need what is called a hard lead. It's also best to write this type of story in what is called "inverted pyramid." This is where the most important details go first, then you taper off with the less important ones. This is useful for stories that the editor will need to cut off to make room.
