Terri Said:

What's a good book to write a report on?

We Answered:

Here are our ten most popular recreational book titles:

1. Our Lady of the Forest - David Guterson
2. The DaVinci Code - Dan Brown
3. Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden
4. Red Dragon by Thomas Harris
5. Girl Talk - Julianna Baggett
6. The Amityville Horror - Jay Anson
7. The Notebook - Nicholas Sparks
8. The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold
9. The Wedding - Julie Garwood
10. The Five People You Meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom

I'd suggest The DaVinci Code cause I read that....sorta...and I thought it was kinda interesting!

Yolanda Said:

What is the best way to write a book report?

We Answered:

Wow, yeah, toughie.
Here's another heavy math- science person with some substitute teaching experience answering you-
First, what are the parameters?
"Do a book report?"
Or, "Write a book report of five pages that expresses your opinion?"
"compares to another book you read?"
What is that is definitely required?
Start there.
You already see one concrete suggestion- "Compare to another book you read".
You could, as an analytical type, suggest the realistic plot line, and then discuss why the book has more dramrtic or comedic appeal.
You could discuss the parts that you liked because the book used exaggeration, a certain velocity of plot (especially when it changes, goes slow, picks up and gets you wondering, slows down, then BOOM! hits you with the "zenith").
You could describe what the characters contributed.
This book was believable because Zoe was such a doormat at first, and had to adapt. If Zoe had been a fiesty young woman, then this situation never would have happened in the first place.
Etc.
Many ideas!
See what you have enough material for.
And don't be afraid to use your analytical skills to begin with!
