Outline For Report Writing

Kelly Said:

Need Help on writing a report 8 paragraphs on John Mcane and Obama.Need Help!!!pleese read the deatials bellow?

We Answered:

You asked for an outline? Simple!

1. Opening statements. Describe the current situation, the economic difficulties, the war, and the major disasters of the current Republican administration, such as 9/11, Katrina and the econonic collapse. Talk about the challenges we face during the next president's term, the war in iraq, energy, health care and the economy. Set the stage to compare and contrast the candidates.

2. Describe the candidates. Their age. Their demographic. Their past and what they stand for. Their position within their parties. You might make a paragraph about each candidate. Obama's heritage is particularly interesting. He is of mixed heritage. McCain claims to be a maverick, but that cuts two ways, because his party sometimes views him as disloyal.

4. Controversies. Talk about some of the controversies or "negative" attacks on each candidate. The use of Obama's middle name "Hussein" to inspire bigotry. McCain's ties to the Keating 5 scandal, and his campaign manager's lobbying ties to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that were recently bailed out with taxpayer money. In the most recent debate, McCain angered many of his own party by suggesting that government buy failed mortgages, and he alarmed many people by saying that Social Security would not provide the same benefits in the future.

3. Strengths and weaknesses. What do you see as each candidates strengths and weaknesses? What are the advantages of electing one over the other. McCain claims that his war experience gives him an advantage over Obama since we are in a war. Obama claims that what our government is doing is not working, and McCain is part of the problem, since he has been part of that same government for so long.

4. Talk about each candidate's choice of VP. Will the VP be a good president? Why or why not? Consider John McCain's health, and the greater likelihood that his VP may take up the presidency at some point.

5. Issues. Compare and Contrast John McCain and Barack Obama on different issues. Different issues can be different paragraphs. For instance, John McCain does not want any timetable to end the war, and Obama does want a timeline. John McCain's healthcare program is significantly different from Obama's. And then there is energy. McCain puts a greater emphasis on drilling, and Obama places greater emphasis on alternative energy.

6. Trust. Talk about each candidate in terms of what makes you trust them or not trust them. John McCain has switched positions several times, and that makes people wonder whether what he is saying he supports now will be the same as what he will support when he becomes president. Some people are concerned about his temperament, that he is impulsive and irascible, or that he may have post traumatic stress from his time as a prisoner war, or that he may have some mental deterioration due to his age. Obama was a community organizer early in his life and has shown a lifelong commitment to improving people's lives.

7. provide some closing comments on why you chose Barack Obama.

For sources, you can go to each candidate's website. Also look on the Free Republic website for conservative chat about candidates and on Daily KOS for progressive chat about candidates. Be warned. Not all information on these sites is reliable. Reliable information will be accompanied by links to news articles that confirm the information.

Best of luck. I am sure you will write a great paper. Stop being so nervous. This is a TERRIFIC subject. You could fill a book with it. I am almost tempted to write one just for fun.

Help Me Write an Outline For a Report?

We Answered:

"Old Blood and Guts" was the nickname earned by controversial General George Patton but historians consider him to be a brilliant military leader. He fought in World War I but attained his greatest fame in World War II in North Africa, Sicily and Europe.
The above is how I would write the opening paragraph.

Then, follow up with the most important points about his life. For instance,
He came from a long line of soldiers, including ancestors who served prominently in the American Revolution and in the Civil War.
A graduate of West Point, he first saw military action in the Mexican Expeditionary Force in search of the bandit Pancho Villa.
During World War I he led the newly formed U. S. Tank Corps in the first significant military action by tanks.
Patton's first well-known campaign in World War II was in North Africa, where he became unpopular with the troops, who were somewhat undisplined and had not done well against the Germans. He was really tough on them but they became a much better fighting force as a result.
He commanded the force that invaded Sicily and was successful in driving the Italians and Germans out of that island.
Patton was a very fierce person and hated "goof-offs." When visiting a hospital, he slapped two patients who had no visible wounds. They were suffering from battle fatigue and Eisenhower relieved him from duty for ten months.
Later, he was placed in command of the U.S. Third Army who fought in Normandy, the Lorraine and the Ardennes.
Perhaps Patton's most controversial action in World War II was when he sent 300 men and 15 tanks to liberate his son-in-law from a prisoner-of-war camp. The raid was a total failure and only 35 of the 300 men returned alive from the mission.
He was applauded and honored at a parade in Los Angeles in June 1945.
After returning to Germany, Patton was killed in a vehicle accident in December 1945.
