How To Write A Physics Lab Report
Robin Said:
I need help with physic (Galileo's Inclined Plane) lab report.?We Answered:
Purpose: To test the hypothesis that:Total distance = (acceleration)(TIme^2).
Method: Earth's gravity will provide constant force: Force = (mass)(acceleration). Mass is a constant, therefore acceleration will be a constant.
Result: Use your graph of "Total Distance/TIme^2 = straight line.", to calculate the Acceleration. Acceleration should be a constant in this experiment.
Error analysis: You could comment on how much the datapoints deviate from a straight line = constant acceleration.
Conclusion: Is the hypothesis validated?

Physics lab--physics of a light bulb: resistance and power calculations?We Answered:
The point of this experiment is to demonstrate that resistace is temperature depended and to graph resistance vs temperature and a few other things...You are using the Stefan-Boltzman equation
equation P=AT^4 to compute the temperature of the filament based on power input Pin where
P=AT^4
A-constant (product of area, emissivity and boltzman's constant)
T- absolute temperature
Pin= V I
V- voltage measured
I - current measured
T=(P/A)^(1/4)
T=(V I/A)^(1/4)
Just keep in mind that resistace R=V / I

writing a physics lab report?We Answered:
This is experimental science:You hypothesize and then test the hypothesis. The test is the experiment.
In your example, create two tests, one with constant acceleration and one with constant velocity.
For constant acceleration, set a n inclined plane and use a steel ball rolling. The constant acceleration will be the vertical component of the force based on the angle of the plane.
Now set up a constant velocity example. One way to do that is to get an object on an inclined plane with a kinetic coefficient of friction that you know. Then set the inclined plane at an angle that will cause the object to move at terminal velocity, which will be constant over the surface. Measure the time it takes to move the distance.
Now compare the velocity you chose to the acceleration of gravity:32ft/s^2.

How do you use uncertainties in lap reports?We Answered:
1) They are both important2) Yes, include both
3) They write books on the subject (or at least chapters). It depends what you are doing--ask your teacher for guidance or ask here if you have a more specific calculation.
4) Calculated
If it is the night before you have to turn in the lab, and you have not yet bothered to ask questions, yes, you are screwed.

I need some help with physics homework ?We Answered:
you need more information than that. Or do you mean methods on how to measure it?One way is to shoot it straight up and measure how long it takes before it hits the ground (get out of the way first). You can use the equations of motion to do this calculation. Divide that time by 2, then calculate how far it went up from d = ½gt²
take the distance and calculate how fast a falling object will be moving when falling from that distance from v = ?(2gh)
