Well, first you need to determine your purpose.Are you trying to inform readers about drug addicts?
Are you trying to persuade people not to do drugs?
Or are you trying to tell the story of a drug addict?
You are probably trying to do the first, in which case you need to develop a thesis. "Thesis" is a fancy word that means point. Basically, your paper needs to have point or argument, or nobody will care. Perhaps your thesis should be, drug addiction is an epidemic in America, but there are many options for treatment. Then, your paper could explain how drug addiction destroys homes and write about what drug addicts and the families of drug addicts can do to help solve their problems.
