There's a t.v. show that has fashion designers competing in their field, I can't recall the name...might be on A&E. I think if you would write them a cover letter telling what your doing, and include a form with a few questions they would help you. And you could also ask them for other leads. Sounds fun, good luck!
Just had another idea...get a few fashion mags and write to them also. They usually give names up front on their staff, address it to the fashion editor.

if you dont exactly match the examples thats okay. dont worry about the length as much as the quality.
what you do need to do is decide what your most important topics are, and what topics you have the most information on.
it seems like you have alot of ideas and maybe even hopefully alot of references for your research
what they are looking for its probably not your opinion on african poverty-- but they want to see that you can effectively organize the information clearly.
my advice to you is to pick the MAIN topics you want to talk about-- make sure you have references, and cite them in the paper itself as well as on a works cited page (you can search MLA or APA citation guidelines on google and there are some good webpages out there)
after you pick those topics, present your informatin on them. one at a time.
make sure your paper is clear and to the point
dont jumble it with too many facts that you can't expand on.

No commas or anything.
