Luis Said:

Examples of the archetype "Transgressor" in Greek mythology and in in culture today?

We Answered:

The transgressor is the character who attempts something that has never been done. This character pushes the limits of human knowledge.

So -- Prometheus and Sisyphus are both good examples. Prometheus stole forbidden fire from Zeus, and Sisyphus, who tried to outwit the gods and overcome death.

Other Greek Myth Transgressors would be: Ixion (who was the first slainer of kin in greek mythology). Also, Tantalus a mortal who had been welcomed to Gods' dinner table in Mt Olympus. He misbehaved, stole ambrosia, brought it back to his people, and revealed the secrets of the gods. Tantalus then killed his own son and tried to serve his body to the Gods to prove their inferiority.

Modern day examples - Shelley's Dr. Frankenstein who attempted to reanamate the dead, but fails and ends up creating a monster.
