It was with great thought and a heavy heart that I have decided it is time for me retire my post as Principal of XYZ HIgh School. It might be easier for you to set up an automatic monthly transfer at your bank from savings to checking. I've never heard of an employer automatically putting money into your savings unless you have set it up that way. If you have, then simply request that you would like the amount be included in your check, or give the account number that you want the money to be transfered into.

Can you give us any more to go on? It is difficult to attempt to compose a letter on your behalf when we do not know your position in the company - an MD would have an entirely different perspective from say the Membership secretary - or whether you know him personally and/or have worked closely with him.
