I do have to say that the person who suggests a few mistakes on your resume will simply show you are human is really off the mark. Your resume is your personal marketing tool – it would be a shame to present a potential employer with a document that essentially communicates "I didn't take the time to make sure this document was error free." Not a good start!

research the company
list the job responsibilities as you understand them
list why you are qualified for this position and why you would be an asset to the company
they don't care if you need the job
the purpose of the cover letter is to ELIMINATE PEOPLE-not hire them
it has to catch their attention that you understand the responsibilities and are qualified to perform them in an exemplary manner
