Write A Donation Letter

Constance Said:

How to write a donation letter?

We Answered:

Ghh

Anthony Said:

can you write a personal donation letter?

We Answered:

Yes, you can write a letter, it's called free speech.

Keep in mind that only a relative is going to help you--you are not a charity, so no one would get a deduction for giving you money (worse, it's income to you!).

Milton Said:

Does anybody know how to write a donation letter?

We Answered:

If you’re looking for a big donation ... you need to put yourself in the position of the party donating the money. What's in it for them? Sure it's a tax write off ... but they can donate to any non-profit and get that.

What can you do for the company that you're getting the money from?

Here are a few suggestions:

Signage

Their name and logo on your banners at the event and/or on your t-shirts.

Advertising

Include them in your newspaper advertising, flyers posters, and in your radio public service announcements.

Community Goodwill

Promise letters to the editor to the local paper of what great people they are.

This will make you a salesperson offering true value for their donation ... rather than just another beggar.

Oh, don't type the letter in all caps. You shouldn't use contractions but if you do use apostrophes.
IM should be I'm. In a formal letter it should be I am.

Anne Said:

How would i write a donation letter to a company for my eagle scout project?

We Answered:

I would visit the places you were going to mail a letter and explain your Eagle Scout project and ask if they could donate xxx subs with xxx drinks on Sat. and/or Sun. Ask to speak with the Manager or someone in authority and get their verdict immediately. Do the same at Home Depot, Lowes etc. for the materials. If you mail a letter it might just sit on someones desk and you'll run out of time. Of course, I would have thought all this would have been done sooner that 5 days before the weekend.
