You do not have to give any excuses. Just say I am resigning my position effective such and such date, and sign the letter. Simple.Timothy Said:
Should I have to write a resignation letter to my employer if I'm on LOA and they are offering severance pay?We Answered:
If you are on an official LOA from your employer you are treated for all intent and purposes as a regular employee. If your employer is offering various severance packages to its employees it is obvious that the intent is for the employee to resign their position in lieu of receiving some benefit from their resignation (probably financial). So, yes you would be required to relinquish your position if you accept their package and I would suggest that in your resignation letter that you are resigning your position specifically due to the severance package they are offering you at this time.

Should I write a letter of resignation to quit a job at a grocery store? We Answered:
It doesnt look bad if you dont since there are probably just greatful to at least get notice, but it says something about you when you do. Give a copy to your dept manager and the store manager as well. You want to leave in good standing. One more thing: Please, work your last shift. I have seen way too many people give notice, then leave us hanging because they dont show up on thier last day, then still want a good reference.
