You can RESIZE your clipart images by simply clicking the image (to make it active). Once it is active, you will notice the rectangular border around it and endpoints and middlepoints.

CLICK the endpoint, Hold the click and Drag it closer to its center to resize it smaller, and outside the center to resize it bigger.

Images inserted in MSOffice is usually set as ALIGNED TO TEXT, that is why the clipart you inserted could not cover the text or could not be covered by text.

RIGHT-CLICK the image and select FORMAT PICTURE and look for Text Wrapping Setting. You will see several settings like Square, Tight, Behind Text, In Front of Text.

Select what suits best for you.

Cover letter seems a tad formal. Might just call and explain it over the phone, and they should be alright. I mean, most folks that volunteered at the place where I used to work just sorta gave 'em a ring and asked if they could, then came in and talked to the doctors about the specifics and their goals and such. But that's just me!

If you're set on a letter, just basically tell them what you've said here. That you think working with animals will be a fulfilling experience for you, but you'd like to get some hours in observation to make sure before committing yourself to a full career change, etc etc.

There's something a bit odd here. When you apply for a passport you have to forward your birth certificate - unless that's wrong as well. I'd check your birth certificate to make sure that's right - if it is then it seems to be a clerical mistake from the Passport Office - not your parents.

I think it's time to let this issue go. You've obviously gone on and done good things and have much to look forward to in the future. Why look back? Why let it fester all these years? It's not like you ended up in a dead end job and down on your luck. If you had gone to Stanford, you might be a completely different person today, aiming at a completely different life than the one you have now. Would it be better? Worse? Or simply different?

There is a huge difference between looking back and wondering "what if" and looking back bitterly. Leave the past behind you because you can't change it, you can't relive it, and you have nothing to gain by obsessing about it.

Look forward. Don't let the seeds of "what if" sprout in your mind because it is a sure path to dissatisfaction and unhappiness. Don't waste the talent and drive and potential you have in such a meaningless way. Negative energy saps your potential and it is time to let it go. Good luck!
