That is all you need. If the person is a particularly valued employee you might put something to that effect, but I do not believe it is necessary.

First, most of the answers you are getting seem to be confusing an Immigration Visa with a Visitor Visa. The one your bf will be requesting is a Visitor Visa.

You actually send a letter of invitation to him, not to the Embassy. The Egyptian Embassy will have nothing to do with his visa process to the US. It will all be done through the US Embassy in Cairo.

Secondly, he has waited a bit too long to apply for his Visa as it can take 6 months or more to get approved. He will need to prove that he will still have strings back in Egypt that will make him need to return to Egypt, such as a letter from his employer stating that he will still have a job to return to. Also, if you owns any property that he would not just give up and leave behind. He will also need to prove that he will have the money to support himself during his visit to the US. They will also need to see a round trip ticket to prove he has made his arrangements to return to Egypt.

He will also need a sponsor, which would be you. You will be responsible for him during his visit. If he will not have enough money to support himself during his visit (for hotel and food), then you will need to provide proof that you will be able to support him during his visit.

You should visit the US Embassy in Cairo website and check out the forms and requirements needed for a Visitor Visa on there.

The US is making it much harder even to obtain visitor visas, so you both should be prepared for his request to be denied.

And might also be worth stating that is a voluntary work experience. Puts some firms off, thinking you may expect a wage.

Also, no comma after May! May 2009

Might also start like..

"I am writing to you to enquire into the possibilty of me completing a two week, voluntary work experience placement........... so on and so forth.."
