If you have significant work experience, shouldn't you consider creating a resume/CV. Then you could write a cover letter explaining why you think you would be particularly valuable to that particular employer. You should try to learn about specific opportunities, or at least as much as you can about the specific magazine - what they specialize-in or are best-at, and how your background uniquely prepares you to bring value to them. The key is to show them that you may know what their needs are and have some idea about how they would use you to further THEIR goals. If you don't have enough experience (or special credentials) to warrant a formal attachment for the letter, you still have to try to convince them you understand what they need, what you can offer, and how you might fit in at their workplace.Sally Said:
