Remember to give them at least 4 weeks of notice so that they can find a replacement for you. Mention something about being willing to help train your replacement and ensure a smooth transition before you leave. Don't say anything mean or burn any bridges - you may need referrals from some of these people in your next career. Finally, don't leave anything undone - wrap it up well before you quit. Also send them a note later when school starts to let them know how things are going and that you miss them all.

That's the long way. You can also simply write:

Bosses Name
Department
Company

Today's date

I am hereby tending my resignation effective on day of week, Month, Year.

Sincerely,
Your Name

You can do anything in between these two extremes. You do want to write a letter of resignation. This gives you a paper trail so they can't say you quit without notice.
